Woodworking has always been one of the most important, desirable and respected crafts. Wood is one of nature's most basic materials, and it is thanks to its processing by man that our society has been able to develop and progress to the level we are at today. Wood is still a precious material in demand today, and we are dedicated to its processing.

Since 2013, our company DAVOS trade-logistics has been preparing sawn timber, sawing and drying timber and logs. Currently, our services include the production of carpentry, construction and packaging lumber. In addition, we have our own drying plant for quality sawn timber, we can help you with the transport of logs and sawn timber using trucks with loading arm or storage, sawing and cutting to size.

Timber production

Woodworking encompasses a multitude of professions, capabilities and woodworking operations ranging from purpose-built industrial production to works of art. In our company we are primarily engaged in the sawmill production of quality joinery, construction and packaging timber. We can saw the lumber to the profile you specify and also cut it precisely.

Sale and drying of wood

In addition to wood processing, we are also involved in the actual sale of quality dried timber, logs and sawn timber. We are registered as an exporter, importer and manufacturer of timber, which enables us to supply each package with an IPPC registration number.

Types of lumber

Lumber is a building material created by longitudinal cutting of raw wood or logs. Professional machines such as circular, band or frame saws are used to cut and process it. After cutting, the lumber is left to dry in our drying room and then you can take it home.

We differentiate lumber into the following types according to its use:
  • Carpentry
  • Construction
  • Packaging

As the name suggests, they are used for carpentry, construction or packaging work and activities. In our company, we can process and supply all the above mentioned types of lumber according to your requirements.

Storage, sawing and drying of sawn timber

Every piece of lumber needs to be dried after it has been cut to remove moisture and preserve its value. Drying can be either natural or artificial. Artificial drying is of course faster, but also more demanding on space and equipment. Natural drying, on the other hand, is more demanding in terms of conditions.

Our company offers a professional modern drying room equipped with the most ideal conditions. We dry carpentry, construction or packaging timber precisely and thoroughly so that it retains its qualities without the slightest deterioration.

After drying, the lumber can be further processed by sawing to the desired profile. Sawing is carried out on professional saws of high quality with precision down to the smallest detail. We can also cut the sawn timber to the required length.

The sawn timber must then be stored appropriately. When storing, a number of factors must be considered. Wood is very sensitive to moisture. To preserve the quality and value of the timber, you must ensure that it is at least 30 centimetres above the ground. Any prolonged contact with the ground can cause damage to the lumber. Furthermore, you must provide good ventilation to ensure that moisture does not linger in the air.

For storage, we offer our own premises where the best conditions are adapted. Your lumber will be safe with us and its value will be preserved as much as possible.
